The Rules & Code of Conduct
It's an unfortunate fact of life that everything, including games, have to have rules. These are ours. You don't gotta like 'em, but you do gotta follow 'em. :-) They're pretty common-sense items.
- Griefers are absolutely not welcome here. Proof of griefing behavour will result in the offender being banned, no exceptions.
- Player vs player (PvP) combat is allowed with
consent of all parties involved. PKing (player-killing)
is NON consensual killing of another player, and should be
avoided if possible. The game server is set to "Party
PvP" mode, which should help minimize accidental killing
of another player within a party group. Try to be aware of
other non-party players in the same area.
- There is one exception to this: The "Most Wanted" list. If a player character (PC) has killed a certain number of non-hostile NPCs, they will be placed on the list. There are boards scattered about the realm which will list such characters, and what the bounty is for them. If a PC is on that list, it's pretty much considered "open season" on that PC - feel free to hunt them down and collect the bounty! :-)
- We're not going to ask you to "act like an adult." :-) We do, however expect you to treat your fellow players, and the DMs, with respect.
- Please don't overuse the shout channel; doing so can reduce others' enjoyment of their play time in the game. Likewise, please no swearing on the shout channel. There are people who play who find such kind of language offensive, believe it or not. :-) So please don't ruin their enjoyment of the game.
- This is an action server, so emphasis is on combat. That said, role-playing and social interaction of all types is allowed and encouraged. However, there is no hard-and-fast rule requiring role-playing.
In closing, use common sense. This list is hardly all-inclusive, and just because something isn't listed here as being a "no-no" doesn't necessarily mean that it's ok to do. If everyone treats each other with common respect, everyone should have a good time. We hope you enjoy your time playing here at Dave's Place!
